Jet receives honors
DOWNERS GROVE--Jet has been awarded a Benny, the highest honor in the 2007 Premier Print Awards, for its Chick-Fil-A Spring Store Kit entry in the Premier Print Awards, the graphic arts industry’s largest and worldwide printing competition, which recognizes outstanding achievement in print quality. Jet received its “Benny” in the Point-of-Purchase Materials category.
Judson recognized
ELGIN—Judson College has been ranked 23rd on the Midwest Baccalaureate Colleges list for U.S. News and World Report’s 2008 edition of “America’s Best Colleges.” The school climbed 23 places from last year’s ranking. The college officially became Judson University on Aug. 28.
AfterMath launches
NAPERVILLE--Cannon Cost Solutions has re-branded and launched AfterMath Claim Science, a health care cost containment firm. The company provides healthcare claims overpayment recovery services to the nation’s largest health plans.
Kensington acquires Waterford
OAK BROOK—Kensington International, a talent management firm, has acquired Waterford Career Partners, a career transition and executive coaching firm. Will Clarke, the owner of Waterford, joins Kensington as vice president, business development.
Good Sam recognized
DOWNERS GROVE—Good Samaritan and Wellness Center, located on the campus of Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, has received the Chicago Consumers’ Checkbook top rating for quality. This is the second time the facility has received this designation. Magazine subscribers were asked to report on experiences in the preceding year in the areas of quality/maintenance of facilities and equipment, cleanliness, adequacy of facilities/equipment for demand, quality of instruction, availability of organized group activities, friendliness, overall value and providing what the sales staff promised. The magazine then gives checkmarks for quality to firms that score the highest.
Pepe’s marks 40 years
CHICAGO—Pepe’s Mexican Restaurants has marked its 40th year. Pepe’s is Chicago’s oldest and largest chain of Mexican restaurants with 50 locations in the Chicago area and Indiana. It was established in 1967 by Mario Dovalina and Edwin Ptak and is now owned by the second generation of the founding families.
Imagetec expands
NAPERVILLE—Core Print Solutions, an office equipment and solutions provider, has opened at 2056 Westings Ave. The firm is a part of the McHenry-based Imagetec L.P. group of companies. Imagetec has become the largest independent office equipment dealer in the Chicago area.

NAPERVILLE—Tessa’s, a 13,000-square-foot Italian restaurant, has opened at 16 West Jefferson Ave.
BOLINGBROOK—Sports Clips has opened at 139 N. Weber Road. The sports-themed hair care franchise now has more than 400 locations across the nation.
ST. CHARLES—Verizon Wireless has opened a 4,000-square-foot store at 111 E. Ogden.
LOMBARD—MB Financial Bank, N.A., has opened a branch facility at 1145 S. Main St.
WARRENVILLE—Amalgamated Bank of Chicago has opened at 28600 Bella Vista Parkway.
OAK PARK--MB Financial Bank has opened a branch facility at 6621 W. North Ave.
