Elmhurst College increases collections
ELMHURSTElmhurst College marked a banner year for fundraising and collected the third highest dollar total in school history. For fiscal year 2007, which concluded on June 30, Elmhurst College received $4,008,843.22 in gifts, a 26 percent increase over the previous year.

Jet honored

DOWNERS GROVE--Jet has received the Spiritus Award from the International Card Manufacturer’s Association for its outstanding community service programs. Recipients are determined based on a number of factors, including the level and depth of involvement by company staff; the overall impact of the program on the community; the overall effort put into the program in terms of hours of service or complexity of the program's development; and the overall impact of resources such as money, time, expertise, and in-kind donations.

ST. CHARLES--Bison Gear & Engineering Corporation has been selected by the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity as a recipient of the Business Leadership Award. Bison was chosen because of the successful leadership demonstrated and the significant contributions made to workforce/ economic development activities over the past year.

O’Malley & Associates honored by NAWBO
DOWNERS GROVE-- O'Malley & Associates, Financial Services firm has been named 2007 Corporate Partner of the Year by the National Association of Women Business Owners, Chicago Chapter. This is the second year it has been honored. NAWBO has over 600 members in the Chicagoland Chapter.

Kerasotes Theatres to open

OAK BROOK-- Kerasotes ShowPlace Theatres, LLC has announced plans to open a 14-screen multiplex at Clearwater, a new mixed-use project under development by The John Buck Company. Designed by Chicago-based OKW Architects, the development will occupy 29 acres at 22nd Street and York Road.

Middleby Corporation honored

ELGIN—The Middleby Corporation has received the Emerging Growth Award from the Association for Corporate Growth Chicago chapter. The annual award is given to a company with revenues of $500 million dollars or less that has demonstrated consistent growth in income, profit and shareholder value.

QIG moves to Addison

LOMBARD—Quik Impressions Group, Inc. is moving from its current 7,500-square-foot facility in Lombard to a 20,100-square-foot facility at 1385 Jeffrey Drive in Addison. The printing firm has also purchased a 40-inch, six-color press to complement its current printing, mailing, fulfillment and storage services along with new computer to plate equipment.

IHM Remodeling recognized

DOWNERS GROVE--IHM Remodeling Repair Contractors has received the 2007 Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Marketplace Excellence. The award recognizes a company that demonstrates superior commitment to exceptional standards that benefit its customers, employees, suppliers, shareholders and surrounding communities

WCNCB receives prestigious designation

SCHAUMBURG--The Woodfield Chicago Northwest Convention Bureau is the first convention bureau in Illinois to earn the Destination Marketing Accreditation Program (DMAP) designation, an international accreditation program developed by the Washington, D.C.-based Destination Marketing Association International. In earning the accreditation, the WCNCB has demonstrated compliance in 54 mandatory and 33 voluntary standards in 16 core competencies.

ConEdison enters Illinois market

ILLINOIS--ConEdison Solutions, an energy services company, has expanded its national reach by entering the deregulated energy marketplace in the Commonwealth Edison territory in Illinois. Established in 1997, ConEdison Solutions is a subsidiary of Consolidated Edison, Inc., and part of a group of companies that is one of America’s largest and longest-operating investor-owned energy companies.

McCOOK—Chicago Party Rental has received the Espirit Award, for Best Event Support Services (Budget over $50,000) from the International Special Events Society.

WOOD DALE—TopGolf has opened at 699 W. Thorndale, Avenue. The company is located next to the Salt Creek Golf Club.

ELGIN—Old Second Bank has opened its third facility in Elgin at U.S. Rte. 20 and Nesler Road.

ST. CHARLES—Brannick Clinic of Natural Medicine has opened at 1650 E. Main Street.

OAK PARK—Maya Del Sol, a Latin American restaurant, has opened at 144 S. Oak Park Ave.

NAPERVILLE--Ink Station, Inc. has opened at Fox Run Square Shopping Center. The store provides ink jet and laser printer cartridge refilling services and supplies to consumers and businesses.

SCHAMBURG—Vascular Transplant Services has opened at 2122 Palmer Drive. The firm is a tissue provider specializing exclusively in vascular tissue. VTS handles the entire tissue process—from medical screening to distribution; its clients include vascular surgeons across the nation.

ST. CHARLES—American Music Institute has opened at 214 S. 3rd Street.

BOLINGBROOK—Harris has opened a branch at 710 S. Weber Road.

BLOOMINGDALE---Feldman Mall Properties, Inc. has announced the following openings at Stratford Square Mall: Mandee and Vanity, fashion retailers; Gifts Extraordinaire; T-Mobile; and Northwest Laser and Cosmetic.
