Aurora CVB honored
The Aurora Area Convention and Visitors Bureau has received two Illinois Governor’s Awards, which honored work from the 2007 calendar year. One was for best piece in alternative advertising for the Aurora Area Getaway pull-up shade and best radio in the audio/visual category. The radio entry comprised a 60-second radio ad designed to drive shoppers to the Aurora Area for the holidays.
TransTech now Mother Network
TransTech Consulting Services in Itasca, a provider of IT managed services, has changed its name to Mother Network Guardians. A new logo and other branding elements accompany the name change.
Caterers win awards
Tasty Catering in Elk Grove Village has won three 2008 NICE (NACE ISIS Chicago Excellence) Awards. It was honored by The National Association of Catering Executives and the International Special Events Society for best catered event under $10,000, best picnic and best NICE team event.
Accounting firm opens new office
The newly founded accounting firm of Trimarco, Radencich, Schwartz & Mrazek has moved into its recently completed office building at 1775 Legacy Circle, Naperville, a 5,000-square-foot facility.
Franz turns 80
Franz Discount Office Products in Arlington Heights is celebrating its 80th year in business. Since 1928, Franz’s product line has expanded to now include more than 34,000 office supplies, furniture and equipment.
Chamber recognizes honorees
The inaugural Downers Grove National Bank Chamber Choice Awards honored the following Downers Grove area businesses: SEASPAR, for community contribution by a not-for-profit; Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, inn the large business division; Heritage House Florists, for small business, retail; IHM Remodeling Repair Contractors, for small business, service; and The Management Association of Illinois, for small business, professional, and also with the overall business excellence award.

Des Plaines Office Equipment has acquired Tinley Park-based Synergistic Office Solutions, a document management/office products firm. The Synergistic accounts will be incorporated under the DPOE name and brand.
Architects change name at 25
Dahlquist and Lutzow Architects, Ltd., is celebrating its 25th anniversary by changing its name to DLA Architects, Ltd. The firm has offices in Hinsdale and Elgin. A new accompanies the name change.

Central DuPage Hospital has been named a 2008 Distinguished Hospital for Patient Safety, as part of an independent study by HealthGrades, the nation’s leading health care ratings company.
Sidwell recognized
The Sidwell Company, a GIS and cadastral mapping solutions provider in St. Charles, was recognized as a 2008 Foundation Partner of the Year by the Environmental Systems Research Institute.
