UrbanSenior Living, an Inland Real Estate, LLC development, has opened a location in LaGrange.

Barnes & Noble to open in Oak Brook
Barnes & Noble booksellers has opened a new Oak Brook location at 297 Oakbrook Center. Concurrently, the existing store at 1S550 Route 83, Oakbrook Terrace, will close.

Lemont Kitchen & Bath awarded
The National Kitchen and Bath Chicago Midwest Chapter has presented Lemont Kitchen & Bath with the Design Visions 2008 Edmond L. Zielinski, CKD Memorial award for excellence in design “Best of Show.”

SBA to provide post-disaster contracts
Information about federal contracting opportunities for small businesses able to support post-disaster cleanup and rebuilding in areas devastated by recent storms and flooding is now accessible through the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Disasters Contracting Assistance Center (DCAC). The DCAC provides a central point of reference for small businesses to learn about federal contracting opportunities. Business owners can visit www.disastercontractingassistance.gov to find out how to seek government contracts.

First alert receives innovation award
First Alert, an Aurora-based safety manufacturer, has received a 2008 Innovation Award for its Tundra Fire Extinguishing Spray. The award was given by consulting firm Kuczmarski & Associates as a way to honor significant innovations introduced by Chicago-area companies.

BOMA honors TOBY recipients
The Building Owners and Managers Association of Suburban Chicago has honored the recipients of The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) awards. The suburban honorees are Highland Oaks II, Downers Grove, managed by CB Richard Ellis, Inc., in the 100,000-249,999 square-foot category; Westwood of Lisle I & II, managed by Hines G.S. Properties, Inc., in the 250,000-499,999 square-foot category; Continental Towers, Rolling Meadows, managed by Prime Group Realty Services, Inc., in the 500,000-1 million square-feet category; Mid America Plaza, Oakbrook Terrace, managed by CB Richard Ellis, Inc., in the suburban office park/mid-rise category; and MB Financial Center, Rosemont, managed by MB Financial Bank, in the corporate facility category.

Consulting group opens
Mousseau Consulting Group (MCG) has been formed in Wheaton. MCG works with non-profit organizations, providing grant writing, research and consulting services.

Edward Jones opens office
Edward Jones Investments has opened an office at 2325 Dean St., Suite 700, St. Charles.

Caterer relocates
Marino’s Kitchen, formerly Marino’s Deli & Butcher Shoppe, has relocated from Lisle to its new location at 15523 S. Weber Road, Unit 112, Romeoville.

Wall Street journal to close printing plant
Dow Jones & Co. is closing its Naperville facility as the publishing company consolidates its printing needs for the Wall Street Journal throughout the nation. The Naperville office prints and distributes the Wall Street Journal for metro Chicago. The work is being transferred over to the Tribune Co. printing plant in Chicago.

Tenant rep firm opens in Northbrook
Taurus Realty Partners has opened its tenant representation firm in Northbrook to provide integrated real estate services specifically geared toward industrial end-users.

JSH&A awarded
JSH&A Public Relations, an Oakbrook Terrace-based boutique public relations agency specializing in consumer lifestyle programming, has been named as one of the 2008 “Best Agencies to Work For” by industry publication “The Holmes Report.”

Topa named restaurant of the year
Elk Grove Village-based Topa Tavern & Grill has been named Restaurant of the Year by the Food, Beverage & Equipment Executives, a purveyor organization.

Communication companies merge
Type Concepts, Inc. and Rooster Marketing, Inc. have merged to form the communications company TCI, to be headquartered at 12250 S. Harlem Ave., Suite B, Palos Heights.

Anniversary:
Oak Brook-based Krusinski Construction Company, a design/build general contractor and professional manager of construction services, is now in its 35th year of operation.
