Bruce J. Hammersley has joined North Aurora-based Civis Financial Group as president and CEO.

Ed Garzaro has joined Amcore Bank in Aurora as a treasury management relationship manager and assistant vice president, while Cheryl Chalk has been promoted to branch manager and officer in Elgin.

Rebecca Loughlin has been named vice president, commercial banking for Leaders Bank in Oak Brook.

Carol K. Gieske has joined the Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce as vice president of communications and special events.

Wally Mundy of W.E. Mundy Landscaping has been named chairman of the board of the Greater Aurora Chamber of Commerce.

Development

Scott J. Brejcha has been named project manager/ecologist of the Wetland and Ecology Services Group at V3 Companies in Woodridge.

Education

Bryant L. Cureton, president of Elmhurst College, has announced his plans for retirement at the end of June 2008. Cureton assumed the presidency in 1994 after 23 years at Hartwick College in upstate New York.

Engineering

Diane Lukas has been appointed president of Hampton, Lenzini and Renwick, Inc. in Elgin.

Dale B. Edwards has been named materials engineer and senior consultant for Engineering Systems Inc., in Aurora.

Charles K. Albrecht has been appointed vice president of Patrick Engineering Inc. in Lisle.

Insurance

Scott Przybyla has joined Downers Grove-based O’Malley & Associates as a partner.

Marketing

Brian Joosse has been named director of interactive initiatives for Arends in Oak Brook.

Nonprofit

Mary Loch, Kathy Mills, and Wani Suliman have been elected to the board of Love Christian Clearinghouse, a not-for-profit organization representing 90 churches in southeastern DuPage County.

Laura Hernandez, senior consultant for Crawford, Johnson & Northcott, Inc., and Glenn Sapa, retirement consultant for Aon Consulting Chicago, have been named to the DuPage PADS board of directors.

Real Estate

Erik Foster has been named to the newly created position of senior vice president, director of capital markets for Grubb and Ellis Company.

Lyle C. Patterson has been named acquisitions director at Romanek Properties in Northbrook.

Dave McGowan has been named director of the Inland Real Estate School, Inc. in Oak Brook.

Services

Nimlok Chicago, a trade show exhibit designer and builder in Niles, has announced the following appointments: Erica Rotberg, account manager; John Schwab, exhibit properties manager; and Tim Stopka, account executive. 

Larry Marzullo, CEO and president of Hillside-based Bekins Holding Corp., has announced his retirement at the end of 2007. Marzullo joined Bekins in 1986 and has held a variety of executive positions in the companys household goods and logistics divisions, culminating with his appointment to the firm’s top post in 2000.

Joe Engberg has been promoted to director of safety for the Care of Trees in Wheeling, while Sue Bennett has been promoted to director of marketing.
