Hampton, Lenzini and Renwick honored

ELGIN—Hampton, Lenzini and Renwick, Inc., a civil engineering firm, has received the Project of the Year Award ($10 million-$100 million) from the American Public Works Association and The American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois for its work on the Sullivan Road bridge over the Fox River in Aurora.

Waubonsee CC recognized

SUGAR GROVE—Waubonsee Community College has received six awards of distinction in the 13th Annual Communicator Awards Print Competition for projects that exceed industry standards in production or communication skills. The college was honored for its viewbook, viewcard, 40th anniversary holiday card, “Learning First!” student newsletter, high school recruitment postcard and high school recruitment brochure.

Harp Group acquires Hyatt Woodfield

OAK BROOK—The Harp Group has acquired the 470-room Hyatt Regency Woodfield hotel property in Schaumburg in a transaction valued at $49 million. The Harp Group entered into a joint venture partnership for the all-equity transaction with Parsippany, N.J.-based Prudential Real Estate Investors, acting on behalf of institutional investors in its value-added commingled fund.

Judson changes name

ELGIN—Judson College will become Judson University in August.

WDSRA recognized
CAROL STREAM—The Western DuPage Special Recreation Association (WDSRA) has received a certificate of achievement for excellence in financial reporting, specifically for its comprehensive annual financial report, from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United Sates and Canada for its. The certificate is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. The WDSRA is the first special recreation association to receive the distinction.

Oak Brook Hills honored Oak Brook Hills Marriott Resort has been named one of Success Meetings’ best hotels and will receive the 2007 Pinnacle Award. Readers of Successful Meetings magazine--corporate and association executives with meeting planning responsibilities--awarded the resort a perfect 10 across the four categories for hotels and conference centers: Accommodations, Amenities, Meeting Facilities and Service, and Food and Beverage.

SynNet marks 15 years
ELMHURST—Synergistic Networks has marked its 15th year of business. Incorporated in May 1993, the firm now serves more than 250 clients in the greater Chicago area.

ECS Illinois acquires GME

BUFFALO GROVE—ECS Illinois, LLC, a subsidiary of Engineering Consulting Services Ltd., has acquired GME Consultants of Illinois. ECS is a consulting engineering firm that specializes in Geotechnical and Environmental engineering as well as construction testing services. This acquisition adds office locations and staff resources in Bridgeview and Kankakee, Illinois and Janesville, Wisconsin.

OPENING

WHEATON-Northern Trust has opened at 101 S. Cross Street. The financial services firm now has 85 locations in 18 states. This new location offers a full complement of personal financial services, including private banking, investment manage Wesley Street. The firm serves middle-income consumers with hourly, as-needed financial planning. Keffer Financial will offer retirement and investment plans to families, individuals and in the workplace

ST. CHARLES--Paul Hemmer Companies has opened a 72-acre industrial, office and retail center in The Legacy Business Center of St. Charles on Kirk Road, one mile south of North Avenue (Rt. 64).

NAPERVILLE—Amore Restaurant Family Style Buffet has opened at 955 W. 75th Street.

LISLE—Ice Miller LLP, Indianapolis’s largest law firm, has opened an office in DuPage County. The office includes 14 attorneys, two paraprofessionals and seven support staff members.

WARRENVILLE—Amalgamated Bank of Chicago has opened at 28600 Bella Vista Parkway.
