Edward submits certificate of need
NAPERVILLE—Edward Hospital and Health Services has submitted a certificate of need to the Health Facilities Planning Board for a $235-plus million, 162-bed hospital in Plainfield. Edward also announced it will submit a separate application later this summer for an $18 million outpatient Edward Plainfield Cancer Center on its Plainfield campus. The hearing on that certificate of need could be heard in early 2008.
CDH ranked by U.S. News
WINFIELD—Central DuPage Hospital (CDH) has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report’s in its “Best Hospitals for 2007” rankings. CDH has ranked 37th for orthopedics in the nation. The magazine reported that only 173 hospitals out of 5,462 evaluated met the specialty criteria recognition. Ranking was determined from a number of criteria: volumes and types procedures, availability of nurses, advanced technology and recognition by professional bodies.
Drury Design honored
GLEN ELLYN—Drury Design, a kitchen and bath studio, has received two National Kitchen and Bath Association design awards for projects in the western suburbs. The studio earned second place of more than 100 entries in the “Medium Kitchen” category and honorable mention in the “Other Rooms” category for a butler’s pantry.
Martopia recognized
ST. CHARLES—Martopia, a growth catalyst firm that provides marketing, public relations and sales expertise, has received three awards of distinction in The Communicator Awards 2007 print competition. The awards are given for projects that exceed industry standards in production or communication skills.
Abercrombie & Kent honored
OAK BROOK—Abercrombie & Kent has received two WAVE Awards for “Best Tour Operator Africa/Middle East” and “Most Knowledgeable Reservations Staff.” Recipients were chosen after extensive product analysis, on-site visits, a survey of selected travel agents and online research by the editorial team at TravelAge West. This is the second consecutive year that A&K has been recognized for its reservations staff service.
Rozovics & Wojcicki mark 30 years
PARK RIDGE—Rozovics & Wojcicki, P.C., an accounting, tax and consulting services firm, has marked its 30th anniversary. In 1977, founding partner, Michael Rozovics started his public accounting practice in Chicago. Today, Rozovics and partners Christopher Wojcicki and Jeffrey Rozovics have a 15-member team that serves more than 300 clients from their Park Ridge location.
