Michael C. Walther II of Balasa Dinverno Foltz LLC, in Itasca, has been chosen by “Institutional Investor News” as one of the “20 rising stars of wealth management for 2008.”

Roger Schnorr has been named senior vice president/division manager of business banking for Old Second Bank, in Aurora.

International Bank of Chicago, in Stone Park, has made the following appointments: Donald J. Stahl, executive vice president; Barry L. Haskins, senior vice president and chief financial officer; and George C. Anderson, vice president and senior lending officer.

Richard Richiski has been appointed head of distribution and regional management for the specialties business unit of Zurich North America Commercial, in Schaumburg.

Darrell B. Jackson, deputy head of private client services for The Northern Trust Company, has been elected to the board of directors of the Illinois Bankers Association.

Michael B. Brophy has joined Woodridge-based Morgan/Harbour Construction as project engineer.

Aleksandr Romanenko has been appointed marketing manager for Atlas Companies, an equipment distributor in Schiller Park, while John Bailey has been promoted to service writer.
