IASB honors DLA The Illinois Association of School Boards has awarded DLA Architects, Ltd., in Elgin, and Lincoln-Way Township High School District 210 the 2008 award for Merit for Excellence in Educational Environmental Design. The award was given for the design of the new Lincoln-Way North High School.
Acresso relocates Acresso Software, a software solutions provider, has moved the company’s headquarters to a larger space at 1000 Woodfield Road, Suite 400, Schaumburg.
Gerard Design wins design competition The Society of Typographic Arts recently selected works created by Gerard Design, a business-to-business strategic branding and design communications agency in Warrenville, to become part of its Chicago Design Archive permanent collection. Archive ’08, Chicago’s Design Competition, recognizes and promotes outstanding achievements of the Chicago design community. Designers Christina Steva and Andrey Nagorny and copywriter Brooke Lighton were honored for their creation of an identity system that included logo, letterhead and other corporate branding pieces for Inverom.
Azlan moves to new office Azlan Energy Group, a provider of products and services to help home and business owners go green, has relocated to DynaCom Center 1, 1952 McDowell Road, Naperville.
New name for college Northwestern Business College—a privately-owned career college with campus locations in Chicago, Bridgeview and Naperville, and corporate headquarters in Rosemont—has changed its name to Northwestern College.
Loyola recognizes manufacturer Loyola University Chicago’s Family Business Center awarded Schaumburg-based Quality Float Works, Inc., a manufacturer of metal float balls, the 2008 Illinois Family Business of the Year in the small business category. The award recognizes superior Illinois-based family businesses that demonstrate a strong commitment to both business and family.
